Job summary

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of relevant work experience in banking or finance.
• Strong knowledge of BSP Circulars, regulatory reporting and accounting standards.
• Experience with finance reporting and automation of reports.
• Exposure to branch accounting.
• CPA is preferred.

Position Title:

Accounting Officer

Job Summary:

• Responsible for checking and ensuring accurateness, completeness and efficient recording;performing, balancing and preparing reconciliation of daily transactions of accounts; and preparing financial reports for evaluation and control purposes. Success in this role will be measured by achieving the following key outcomes:

1. Accurate and Timely Financial Reporting: Ensure all branch transactions are properly validated and recorded to maintain integrity of financial data.
2. Regulatory and Policy Compliance: Guarantee timely submission of internal and external reports and adherence to accounting standards and government regulations.

Role Exposure:

1. Financial Reporting and Transaction Processing

• Efficient recording of transactions.

• Daily reports available for evaluation and control purposes.

Transaction Reconciliation and Account Balancing

• Daily transactions of accounts reconciled.

• Proper posting of transactions ascertained.

• Account balances reconciled with corresponding subsidiary ledgers.

Posting Accuracy and Exception Management

• Posting accuracy ensured.

• Discrepancies identified and relayed for resolution.

Temporary Account Monitoring and Control

• Temporary accounts adjusted and zeroed out.

Regulatory and Periodic

• Financial reports prepared for evaluation and control purposes.

• Reports submitted to concerned units.

Other Assigned Functions

• Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time-to-time.

Qualifications:

• At least 5-10 years of relevant work experience
• Strong background in:
  • Knowledgeable of BSP Circulars/ Regulatory Reporting/ Business/ Accounting
  • finance reporting and automation of reports
  • Exposure in branch accounting

• Preferably a CPA (Certified Public Accountant)

Industry Experience

• Preferably from:
  • Local or international banks
  • Audit firms with banking clients
  • Financial Shared Services
