Job summary

Sun Life Financial in the Philippines seeks a seasoned leader to manage a disability claims team within Group Disability. You will drive profitability, coach staff, and deepen client relationships across a block of clients.

The role requires nursing or allied medical training, 5+ years leadership, and strong BPO healthcare experience. You will influence service quality, outcomes, and collaboration with Business Development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing or allied medical courses.
• At least 2 years related experience in disability case management / group insurance with disability focus.
• At least 5 years leadership experience.
• Strong BPO Healthcare experience.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to speak to trends, stats, report cards on clients’ disability experience.
• Outstanding communication skills – written and verbal.
• Ability to deal with stressful situations.
• Ability to deliver difficult news in a tactful and sensitive manner.

Responsibilities

• Manage the disability claims team and profitability for the group disability clients.
• Oversee staffing, resources and budget for effective workload handling.
• Build a stable, collaborative team through recruitment and coaching.
• Establish and deepen client relationships as primary representative for your block of clients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of group insurance, disabilities and claims management strategies.
• Communicate clearly to staff and manage client relationships and expectations.
• Provide direction on targets, workload, cases and processes for the team.
• Address client needs and escalate complaints appropriately.
• Prioritize work items to meet service standards and guidelines.
• Identify process improvements to enhance service quality and financial commitments.
• Collaborate with Business Development on finalist presentations and client management.
