Job summary

Manulife is seeking a capable Investment Operations leader to oversee day-to-day Middle Office activities and drive service delivery for a global client base. You will coordinate with onshore and regional teams, manage escalations, and uphold risk, controls and compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in trade/investment operations, strong English communication, and the ability to coach and mentor staff in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Investment certification is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in handling trade/investment operations.
• Excellent English communication and ability to converse with stakeholders at various levels.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Highly coachable and eager to learn; open to knowledge transfer.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the team to meet service levels.
• Act as regional function lead for MBPS (Asia, North America) ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Cascade and communicate operational risk awareness and practices.
• Provide real-time management support to address escalations and resolve complex production issues.
• Participate in regular service calls with Middle Office teams onshore.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements and control measures.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal Investment Operations teams to improve handovers.
• Ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
• Assist team manager with coaching, incident management, KPI/KRI reporting, and task allocation.
• Participate in succession planning and serve as primary backup for the team manager.
