We are seeking an accomplished Global Finance Director to lead the finance, accounting, and HR functions of an international organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this strategic leadership role will oversee global financial operations, controllership, tax compliance, financial planning, ERP implementation, and HR service delivery.
The ideal candidate is a CPA with extensive technical accounting expertise, a strong background in Big Four firms, and proven experience managing complex financial operations across multiple jurisdictions. This role requires a hands‑on leader who can build scalable processes, strengthen internal controls, drive business performance, and partner confidently with executive stakeholders.
1. Accounting, Controllership, and Cash Management
Lead all accounting and controllership activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, AASB 15, AASB 16, statutory, and tax requirements.
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, as well as external audits and statutory filings.
Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and validity of financial balances.
Review customer contracts and sales orders to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Develop and enhance accounting policies, including revenue recognition and transfer pricing policies.
Oversee cash collections, working capital, banking relationships, and cash flow reporting.
2. Global Tax Compliance and Planning
Oversee tax compliance and planning across multiple jurisdictions, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Philippines, and Canada.
Manage indirect tax and corporate income tax filings, tax audits, and coordination with relevant tax authorities.
Conduct tax nexus analysis and determine applicable tax obligations.
Oversee transfer pricing computations, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and financial consolidation.
3. Financial Reporting, Planning, and Budgeting
Lead the preparation and analysis of financial reports, forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
Conduct variance and trend analysis to support business decisions and improve financial performance.
Partner with the CEO and business unit leaders in developing and managing annual budgets.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership and other business stakeholders.
4. ERP Implementation and Process Improvement
Lead the implementation or enhancement of ERP and accounting systems, including NetSuite or other relevant platforms.
Manage system implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements and operational objectives.
Improve core finance processes, including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, and fixed asset management.
Review and strengthen SOPs, internal controls, and compliance procedures.
5. General Management and Business Partnership
Develop and monitor Finance and HR KPIs, identify operational risks, and implement corrective actions.
Manage expenditure and vendor relationships, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and savings.
Establish service-level agreements and drive continuous improvement across functions.
Provide financial guidance to regional leaders and non-finance stakeholders.
Lead special projects and other strategic initiatives assigned by the CEO.
6. Human Resources Oversight
Oversee HR operations, service delivery, and team performance, including coaching, mentoring, and capability development.
Develop and implement HR policies and procedures aligned with organizational growth and applicable labor regulations.
Oversee performance management, employee relations, payroll, recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding.
Partner with executive leaders and line managers on workforce planning, employee engagement, and talent management.
Monitor HR metrics, including turnover, cost-per-hire, time-to-fill, and compensation and benefits.
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across the organization's operating jurisdictions.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is required.
Minimum of 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, with extensive technical accounting expertise.
Mandatory experience working with a Big Four accounting firm.
Expert knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, AASB 15 (IFRS 15), and AASB 16.
Proven experience in global tax compliance, including indirect tax and corporate income tax across multiple jurisdictions.
Experience managing a centralized Finance Shared Services Center.
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale or mid-market ERP implementations; NetSuite and Odoo experience is highly preferred.
Background in the software industry is an advantage.
Experience in international business environments and cross-border financial operations is preferred.
Proven ability to partner with business units in a results-driven, commercially oriented environment.
Experience presenting financial information and strategic recommendations to C-suite executives.
Strong financial leadership, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.
Excellent knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, reporting, and dashboard development using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Strong understanding of ERP systems, financial controls, and process transformation.
