Job summary

Mercado General Hospital Inc. is seeking a seasoned leader to head hospital general services, facilities management, and support operations.

You will ensure uninterrupted delivery of facilities, engineering, maintenance, safety, security, housekeeping and environmental services, while maintaining regulatory compliance and reliable critical systems. You will oversee preventive maintenance, plan capital projects, coordinate vendor and contractor activities, and guide teams to uphold high standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and professional credentials preferred.
• Minimum 8–10 years of facilities, engineering, or hospital support operations experience.
• 3–5+ years in supervisory or managerial leadership roles.

Responsibilities

About the role

Lead the day-to-day operations of hospital general services and assigned support functions. Ensure uninterrupted and efficient delivery of essential hospital support services, including facilities, engineering, maintenance, safety, security, housekeeping, environmental services, and regulatory compliance. Oversee hospital facilities, building systems, equipment, utilities, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Ensure the reliability and availability of critical systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, water, and other hospital utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of hospital general services and assigned support functions


• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and service standards for general services operations


• Monitor operational performance, service levels, and response times


• Oversee hospital facilities, building systems, equipment, utilities, preventive maintenance, and repairs


• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs and ensure timely resolution of facility-related concerns


• Coordinate capital projects, renovations, and facility improvement initiatives


• Oversee hospital security and safety programs in coordination with relevant hospital departments

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business Administration, Hospital Administration, or a related field


• At least 8–10 years of relevant experience in facilities, engineering, general services, or hospital support operations


• At least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial leadership role


• Experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is strongly preferred


• Demonstrated experience in facilities management, maintenance, safety, security, vendor management, and regulatory compliance


• Strong leadership, planning, problem-solving, budgeting, and stakeholder-management skills


• Licensed engineer or with relevant technical/facilities management credentials preferred
