Job description
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in all hospital areas.
Inspect patient rooms, wards, operating theaters, and other hospital facilities to ensure cleanliness and compliance with infection control standards.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, providing guidance on cleaning techniques, safety, and use of equipment/chemicals.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Respond promptly to housekeeping-related requests from hospital departments and patient areas.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
Maintain records of housekeeping activities, staff attendance, and incident reports.
Enforce compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection prevention protocols.
Support hospital management in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
College Level or equivalent (vocational or college background in hospitality/housekeeping management is an advantage).
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
