Job description

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and orderliness in all hospital areas.
• Inspect patient rooms, wards, operating theaters, and other hospital facilities to ensure cleanliness and compliance with infection control standards.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff, providing guidance on cleaning techniques, safety, and use of equipment/chemicals.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Respond promptly to housekeeping-related requests from hospital departments and patient areas.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
• Maintain records of housekeeping activities, staff attendance, and incident reports.
• Enforce compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection prevention protocols.
• Support hospital management in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• College Level or equivalent (vocational or college background in hospitality/housekeeping management is an advantage).
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
