Job summary

evoke is seeking a General Ledger Senior Analyst to lead GL and branch accounting within its RTR function in Manila. The role reviews accruals and journal entries, owns reconciliation standards, and supports month-end close, management reporting, and audits.

The position requires ACCA/CPA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent qualifications, 2–4 years in GL accounting, and hands-on ERP experience (Oracle/JDE). Hybrid work with competitive benefits is offered.

• Fully qualified professional accountant required (ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA).
• Experience with ERP systems and multi-entity GL is a plus.

Job Description

The General Ledger Senior Analyst is the technical subject matter expert for general ledger accounting and branch accounting within the RTR function. The role reviews and approves accrual and GL journal entries, owns account reconciliation standards, and provides expert guidance on complex GL transactions. The Senior Analyst is a key contributor to month-end close and management reporting, and supports the GL Manager on audit, regulatory, and process improvement initiatives.

This role will also support the process improvements initiatives of that will be designed for the Manila Finance Shared Service Center.

What you will be doing

• Accounting Execution
• Review, Approval & Quality Assurance
• Complex Processing: Handle complex or non-standard GL transactions that fall outside analyst scope.
• Month-end close
• Account Reconciliation: Own and review account reconciliation standards across assigned GL and branch suspense accounts.
• Technical SME
• Act as the technical reference for chart of accounts queries, GL methodology, and branch accounting treatments.
• Handle complex general and branch accounting scenarios.
• Maintain and update general accounting and branch policies, SOPs, and control matrices.
• Provide technical guidance to the analyst on general and branch accounting queries.
• Support, Compliance and Reporting
• Stakeholder management

• Review and approve accrual, prepayment, and GL journal entries prepared by the GL Analyst.
• Validate the completeness and accuracy of accrual / prepayment / journal transaction calculations, and other accounting entries.
• Lead the GL Analyst in executing month-end close activities.
• Escalate significant accounting issues, delays, or control concerns to the General Ledger Manager with recommended actions.
• Support post-close reviews by identifying process improvements and recurring issues to enhance future close cycles.
• Audit Support: Lead the general accounting function's contribution to audit and regulatory support. Ensure working papers meet audit-ready standards before submission for final approval.
• Helpdesk / Query Resolution: Lead query resolution for escalated or technically complex helpdesk requests.
• Reporting: Produce variance commentary for management reporting. Provide data inputs for management reporting and board packs.
• Coaching & Development: Provide on-the-job coaching to GL Analysts on general and branch accounting, controls, and ERP usage.
• Provide technical guidance to the business stakeholders on general and branch accounting queries.
• Respond to external auditor queries on general and branch accounting matters.

Who we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Fully qualified professional accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA) – mandatory.
• 2–4 years progressive experience in GL accounting preferably in a gaming or regulated environment.
• Strong accruals, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
• Demonstrated ability to review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to independently resolve complex general and branch accounting questions.
• Experience acting as a technical reference point for junior team members.
• Hands-on ERP experience (Oracle, JDE, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation (VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, data validation).
• Preferable with branch accounting or multi-entity GL experience.
• Experience in a gaming, payments, or fintech environment.
