Job summary

William Hill PLC is seeking a General Ledger Senior Analyst to act as the technical SME for general ledger accounting and branch accounting within the RTR function in Manila. You will review accruals, prepayments, and journal entries, own reconciliation standards, and lead month-end close with process improvements.

The role requires 2–4 years of GL experience in gaming or regulated environments, strong Excel skills, and hands-on ERP experience (Oracle/JDE).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Fully qualified professional accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA) – mandatory.
• 2–4 years progressive experience in GL accounting, preferably in gaming or regulated environment.
• Strong accruals, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
• Experience as technical reference point for junior team members.
• Hands-on ERP experience (Oracle, JDE, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation (VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, pivot tables, data validation).

The role reviews and approves accrual and GL journal entries, owns account reconciliation standards, and provides expert guidance on complex GL transactions. The Senior Analyst is a key contributor to month-end close and management reporting, and supports the GL Manager on audit, regulatory, and process improvement initiatives.This role will also support the process improvements initiatives of that will be designed for the Manila Finance Shared Service Center.What you will be doing:1. Accounting Execution1. Review, Approval & Quality Assurance* Review and approve accrual, prepayment, and GL journal entries prepared by the GL Analyst.* Validate the completeness and accuracy of accrual / prepayment / journal transaction calculations, and other accounting entries.2. Complex Processing: Handle complex or non-standard GL transactions that fall outside analyst scope.3. Month-end close* Lead the GL Analyst in executing month-end close activities.* Escalate significant accounting issues, delays, or control concerns to the General Ledger Manager with recommended actions.* Support post-close reviews by identifying process improvements and recurring issues to enhance future close cycles.4. Account Reconciliation: Own and review account reconciliation standards across assigned GL and branch suspense accounts. 1. Technical SME* Act as the technical reference for chart of accounts queries, GL methodology, and branch accounting treatments.* Handle complex general and branch accounting scenarios.* Maintain and update general accounting and branch policies, SOPs, and control matrices.* Provide technical guidance to the analyst on general and branch accounting queries.1. Support, Compliance and Reporting1. Audit Support: Lead the general accounting function's contribution to audit and regulatory support. Ensure working papers meet audit-ready standards before submission for final approval.2. Helpdesk / Query Resolution: Lead query resolution for escalated or technically complex helpdesk requests.3. Reporting: Produce variance commentary for management reporting. Provide data inputs for management reporting and board packs.4. Coaching & Development: Provide on-the-job coaching to GL Analysts on general and branch accounting, controls, and ERP usage. 1. Stakeholder management1. Provide technical guidance to the business stakeholders on general and branch accounting queries.2.
