Job summary

Emerson Electric (Asia) Limited - ROHQ is seeking a Senior Specialist, Record to Report to manage general ledger activities and month-end close in Manila. You will perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations, post journal entries, and coordinate with various partners for timely, accurate reporting.

The role requires 4.5 years in general accounting, solid GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Oracle and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field.
• Minimum 4.5 years in general accounting with GL, reconciliations, fixed assets and audit support.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

If you are a Senior Specialist, Record to Report professionallooking for an opportunity to grow your career, this role provides the opportunity to process general ledger transactions, including but not limited to reporting and reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed asset transactions, and financial reviews and close.

In this capacity, you will prepare high-quality reports and reconciliations, collaborate with internal and external customers, and help identify process improvements to provide excellent financial service to Emerson as a member of the Global Financial Services Manila organization. This gives you a very vital role in helping drive growth platforms and supporting operational pillars while striving for long-term value creation.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Perform Bank Reconciliation and month-end financial activities.
• Validate accuracy of data, verify discrepancies, and resolve reconciling transactions.
• Perform Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation, analyze the account details to validate correctness of the balance, and reconcile with other system modules. Recommends adjustment to the Site affecting profit and loss and instructs them to restate balance sheet.
• Collaborate closely and connect with various partners for critical deliverables.
• Check for completeness and validate compliance of reports.
• Perform sense check on relevance of reports and month end close activities based on trends.
• Prepare and post Journal entries; troubleshoot and resolve disputes encountered on entries.
• Coordinate and follow through from other functions on the completion of their transactions and entries in the base system and closing of current month accounting modules. Identify and recommends adjustment required to correct account balances. Follow through to ensure proposed corrective actions are implemented.
• Prepare and provide supporting documents for audit requirements.
• Perform Fixed Assets Accounting; assist in preparing ad hoc reports and other tasks as assigned.
• Identifies continuous improvement project ideas.
• Maps processes as part of the procedure documentation.
• Schedule training sessions with Site Partners.
• Respond to day-to-day operational requirements with urgency.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or any Accounting-related courses.
• 4.5 years of work experience in general accounting, majority of which should be in General Ledger performing bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets, and audit support.
• Solid understanding of internal control and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, including Oracle and SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
