Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Specialist II General Ledger in Mandaluyong City, Philippines to handle GL transactions, including bank reconciliation, fixed assets, accruals, and month-end close. You will work with internal and external partners to drive improvements and ensure timely financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years in general ledger roles, with proven GAAP knowledge and expertise in Oracle/SAP ERP systems, plus strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Accounting-related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant general accounting experience incl. GL, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets, and audit support.
• Solid understanding of internal control and GAAP.
• Proficiency with ERP platforms (Oracle and SAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Perform Fixed Assets Accounting and assist in ad hoc reports.
• Conduct bank reconciliation, Goods in Transit reconciliation, accruals and provisions, and other month-end close activities.
• Validate data accuracy, verify discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis across modules.
• Collaborate with partners for critical deliverables.
• Check completeness and validate report compliance.
• Prepare and post journal entries and resolve entry disputes.
• Provide supporting documents for audit requirements.

If you are a Specialist II General Ledger professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, this role offers the chance to process general ledger transactions, including but not limited to bank reconciliation, inventory and fixed asset accounting, accruals, prepayments/amortization, other month-end activities, Financial Uploads and Statements, and other GL reports. You will collaborate with internal and external customers and help identify operational improvements to provide excellent financial services.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Perform Fixed Assets Accounting, assist in preparing ad hoc reports, and perform other tasks as assigned.
• Perform bank reconciliation, Goods in Transit Reconciliation, Accruals and Provisions, and other month-end financial close activities.
• Validate the accuracy of data, verify discrepancies, and resolve reconciling transactions.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliation, analyze the account details to validate the correctness of the balance, and reconcile with other system modules.
• Collaborate closely and connect with various partners for critical deliverables.
• Check for completeness and validate the compliance of reports.
• Prepare and post Journal entries; troubleshoot and resolve disputes encountered on entries.
• To prepare and provide supporting documents for audit requirements.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Accounting-related courses.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in general accounting, majority of which should be in General Ledger performing bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, fixed assets, and audit support.
• Solid understanding of internal control and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications, including Oracle and SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
