Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Specialist II Accounts Payable to join Global Financial Services Manila. You will help resolve invoice issues, support month-end closing, and provide back‑up for processors across Asia Pacific, EMEA, Africa, and the Americas.

In this role you’ll process payments, validate documents and approvals, provide cash forecasts, and ensure internal controls in line with ERPs and GAAP. We value collaboration, proactivity, and a drive to improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or related field.
  • 3 years of Accounts Payable experience, including at least 1 year in treasury/payments processing.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and FASB regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments from selection to uploading into the bank or payment tool.
  • Process manual payment requests with supporting documents, cost centers, and approvals.
  • Provide cash forecasts for selected payment batches to Treasury.
  • Execute approved payment batches by the reviewer.
  • Review potential duplicate payments and evaluate Payment Proposals before release.
  • Back‑up support for other sites and assist with audit requirements.
  • Meet or exceed productivity targets, KPIs, and SLAs.
  • Secure commitments on deliverables from buyers, vendors, and site finance heads.

Job description

If you are a Specialist II Accounts Payable professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, this role offers the chance to be part of a dedicated, customer-focused accounting and finance team responsible for issue resolution of invoices, reconciliation and month-end closing activities, and providing back‑up support to processors for designated business units. You will also help ensure the effective implementation of internal controls, related Sarbanes‑Oxley policies, and Emerson company policies and procedures. You will support various accounts payable activities across all regions served by Global Financial Services Manila, including Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the United States.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Process payments from selection to uploading into the bank or payment tool (e.g., Trax).
  • Process manual payment requests, including validating supporting documents, cost centers, and approvals, and manually inputting payments into the bank software.
  • Provide cash forecasts for selected payment batches to the Treasury team.
  • Execute approved payment batches by the reviewer.
  • Review potential duplicate payments and evaluate Payment Proposals/Payment Registers prior to release.
  • Serve as back‑up support for other sites and assist with audit requirements.
  • Meet or exceed productivity targets, KPIs, and service level agreements.
  • Secure commitments on critical deliverables from various collaborators including the buyer, vendor, site finance heads, and approvers for the issuance of an offset credit or debit note, variance approval, etc.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or any Accounting‑related degree.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, including at least 1 year in treasury or payments processing.
  • Practical knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g., Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standard Board regulation.
