Job summary

The opportunity

As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through comprehensive test planning, test design, execution, defect management, and reporting activities. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business and customer expectations. The role demands working knowledge of test automation concepts and tools, with hands-on experience in Java-based automation frameworks.

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Mandatory experience in the Insurance domain, with Guidewire Property & Casualty (P&C) expertise considered a strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of Software Testing Fundamentals, QA methodologies, testing processes, and industry best practices.
• Ability to analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Hands-on experience in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
• Experience executing manual test cases and validating application functionality against defined requirements.
• Conduct end-to-end business process validation across integrated systems to ensure complete functional coverage and data integrity.
• Review and validate test cases, test evidence, and defect quality to improve overall testing effectiveness and coverage.
• Support test planning, test estimation, and testing status reporting for small to medium-size projects and release
• Proven experience managing the complete defect lifecycle, including defect identification, logging, tracking, retesting, and closure.
• Experience handling change requests, impact assessments, and regression testing activities.
• Working knowledge of test automation concepts and frameworks, with exposure to tools such as Java Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and RestAssured. Experience in Playwright is an added advantage
• Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and testing activities.
• Design and implementation of scalable automation frameworks.
• Experience integrating automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of service virtualization and mock services
• Experience creating, enhancing, maintaining, and executing test assets to support quality assurance objectives.
• Generate Test Summary Reports
• Co-coordinating Test team members and Development team to resolve the issues
• Interacting with client-side people to solve issues and update status
• Able to lead team across geographies

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Graduate/Post Graduate with technical background
• 5-10 years of automation consulting experience across multiple platforms and varied domains
• At least 5 years of experience in test automation is MUST

Ideally, you'll also have

• Good understanding of test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, Playwright, Appium, and REST Assured.
• Experience identifying opportunities for test automation and recommending appropriate automation approaches to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Exposure to establishing or enhancing QA processes, testing methodologies, and quality assurance practices within projects or programs.
• Experience mentoring junior QA team members and promoting QA best practices within the team.
• Should have excellent communication skills & should be able to articulate concisely & clearly
• Should be ready to do an individual contributor as well as Team Leader role
