Job description

GUIDEWIRE QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST / ENGINEER
About The Role

We are seeking detail-oriented Guidewire Quality Assurance Analysts or Engineers to support testing and quality assurance across complex insurance transformation engagements. You will play a critical role in ensuring that Guidewire implementations are delivered with confidence — validating that platform configurations, integrations, and customizations behave as intended, business requirements are met, and defects are identified and resolved before they reach production.

This role suits a QA professional who brings hands‑on experience testing within Guidewire environments and is equally comfortable working within structured test plans and adapting to fast‑moving Agile sprints. Whether your background is in manual testing, test automation, or a blend of both, what matters most is your commitment to quality, your ability to think like both an end user and a systems thinker, and your capacity to communicate defects and risks clearly to delivery teams and stakeholders.

Guidewire certifications are a strong differentiator for this role and are actively highlighted in how we present your profile to clients. If you hold one or more Guidewire certifications, we want to know about them — and we will make sure clients do too.

DETAILS
  • Employment Type: Full-Time Employment | Contract
  • Experience: 3+ Years in Quality Assurance or Software Testing, with Guidewire Platform Exposure
Guidewire Platform Experience

Candidates with testing experience across any of the following are encouraged to apply:

  • PolicyCenter — Product Model, Underwriting Workflows, Forms, Rating
  • ClaimCenter — Claim Lifecycle, Coverage Verification, Reserves, Financials
  • BillingCenter — Billing Plans, Payment Schedules, Disbursements
  • Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) — Cloud‑hosted implementations and release validation
  • Integration Gateway / GIF — Third‑party integrations, App Events, REST/SOAP API testing
  • Digital Portals — CustomerEngage, ProducerEngage, ServiceRepEngage
DOMAINS WE WORK IN

You may be deployed across any of the following client environments:

  • Property & Casualty, Life, or Group Benefits Insurance
  • Policy Administration, Claims, and Billing Transformation
  • Core Banking Modernization
  • Wealth Management and Investment Platform Delivery
  • Regulatory and Compliance Initiatives
  • Digital and Customer Experience Transformation
Core Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Guidewire implementations based on business requirements and functional specifications
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end testing across Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter
  • Validate Guidewire configurations, product model changes, workflow logic, and integration touchpoints against defined acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with Guidewire BAs and developers to ensure requirements are testable, acceptance criteria are clearly defined, and defects are actionable
  • Log, track, and communicate defects through the full defect lifecycle using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives as an active member of the delivery team
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by coordinating with business stakeholders, preparing test environments, and facilitating sign‑off
  • Contribute to test automation efforts where applicable, including development or maintenance of automated test scripts within Guidewire environments
  • Validate data integrity, system integrations, and end‑to‑end workflows across Guidewire and connected third‑party systems
  • Assess and communicate quality risks to project and engagement leads in a timely manner
  • Contribute to QA process improvement including Guidewire‑specific testing standards, templates, and best practices
Qualifications
Required
  • 3+ years of quality assurance or software testing experience in a professional delivery environment
  • Hands‑on experience testing within at least one Guidewire product — PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute test cases from business requirements and functional specifications
  • Experience testing across multiple layers — UI, API, integration, and data — within complex multi‑system environments
  • Proficiency with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall testing approaches
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail with the ability to clearly articulate defects and their business impact
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills for working across technical and business stakeholder groups
Preferred
  • Guidewire certification at Associate or Professional level — PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, Cloud, or Integration (actively highlighted in client engagements)
  • Experience testing across multiple Guidewire products — cross‑suite knowledge of PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter is especially valued
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) release cycles and cloud‑specific testing considerations
  • Experience testing Guidewire integrations including third‑party data vendors, payment processors, and document management systems
  • Exposure to test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent
  • Experience with API testing and validation using tools such as Postman or SoapUI
  • Understanding of data validation, migration testing, or ETL testing in insurance or financial services contexts
  • Familiarity with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
  • ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification, or equivalent QA credential
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • Platform Testing Depth — Understanding how Guidewire's configuration model, product structure, and integration points create unique testing challenges and risks
  • Testing Rigor — Designing thorough, well‑structured test cases that reflect real‑world insurance business scenarios
  • Defect Clarity — Documenting and communicating issues in a way that is actionable for developers and meaningful to business stakeholders
  • Systems Thinking — Understanding how Guidewire components, configurations, and integrations interact and where risk is most likely to surface
  • Stakeholder Collaboration — Working effectively with Guidewire BAs, developers, and business users across the full delivery lifecycle
  • Agile Adaptability — Staying effective in fast‑moving sprints without sacrificing test coverage or quality standards
  • Risk Awareness — Prioritizing testing effort based on business impact and proactively surfacing quality concerns early
How We Recognize & Support Certification
  • Certified candidates are highlighted in client‑facing bios, proposal submissions, and engagement staffing profiles
  • Certification support is available for candidates working toward their first or next Guidewire credential
  • Continued learning is encouraged through access to Guidewire Education resources and dedicated study time where engagement schedules allow
  • Your credentials travel with you — as you grow your certification portfolio, so does your value and visibility within our practice
a Note On Automation Experience

Automation skills are an asset but not a requirement for this role. We value strong manual testers who bring Guidewire platform knowledge, insurance domain acumen, and a structured approach to quality. Candidates with a blend of manual and automated testing experience — particularly those who can contribute to both within a Guidewire context — are especially encouraged to apply.
