Connext Global Solutions is seeking a dedicated Fund Accountant to support a US-based client. The role involves monthly accounting, reviewing cash and position breaks, preparing expense schedules, and posting journal entries.

You will collaborate with the offshore reconciliation team to resolve breaks and assist with trustee reports and distribution letters. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in fund accounting, experience with Hedge Funds and Private Equity, NAV calculation, and strong Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required.
• Minimum four years of fund accounting experience.
• Experience with hedge funds or private equity is preferred.
• Solid regulatory knowledge and financial reporting skills.
• Proficient with accounting software and Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Fund Accountant is responsible for supporting the client's accounting team. This role involves assisting with the monthly accounting process, including reviewing cash and position breaks in the accounting system, preparing expense schedules, and posting journal entries. The Fund Accountant will engage with the offshore reconciliation team to resolve any breaks. Outside of the close process, they will also help review trustee reports, prepare distribution letters and support packages, and assist with other ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:

• Experienced in managing Hedge Funds and Private Equity.
• Experienced in NAV calculation and preparation.
• Background in investment accounting.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the financial services industry, including tax regulations, compliance standards, and REIT maintenance.
• Skilled in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
• Adept at analytical thinking and problem-solving to track and analyze financial data, perform reconciliations, and identify discrepancies.
• Has attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records, producing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication to effectively collaborate with internal teams, interact with investors and lenders, and convey financial information to senior management.
