The Front Desk Night Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient hotel operations during the night shift while contributing to the overall success of the hotel in terms of revenue, guest satisfaction, and staff performance.
The role includes coordinating front office activities and overseeing both front desk and housekeeping operations. The supervisor ensures that daily operations run efficiently, checks room availability status, and monitors staff attendance against schedules. Regular property inspections are conducted to ensure compliance with hotel standards and procedures.
The supervisor is responsible for managing staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance. They provide coaching and retraining to Guest Service and Housekeeping teams and ensure accountability across all team members. Maintaining open communication across departments is essential.
In terms of guest services, the supervisor handles guest concerns and complaints, responds to inquiries about hotel services and policies, and maintains strong guest relations both in person and over the phone. The role also involves ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, monitoring guest feedback and reviews, and assisting guests who require additional support.
Administrative responsibilities include maintaining department logbooks, ensuring proper communication between teams, and supporting other departments to improve overall hotel performance.
The supervisor also participates in financial tasks such as setting room rates, managing cash funds and petty cash, handling purchasing activities, and supporting profitability and expense control.
The role requires ensuring that all areas of the hotel are well maintained, reporting maintenance issues, and coordinating with external service providers such as laundry, maintenance, and waste management. The supervisor also works with inspectors to ensure compliance with regulations.
Leadership responsibilities include working closely with the Hotel Manager and Supervisor to oversee employees, maintenance, sales, and overall operations. The role supports goal setting, cost control, and continuous improvement of hotel services.
The supervisor is also responsible for maintaining safety and security by coordinating with security personnel and ensuring that safety procedures are followed.
The position requires strong leadership skills, excellent customer service and communication abilities, good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to act quickly and effectively in resolving issues.
