Job summary

Risewave Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Fraud Investigation Associate to examine suspicious transactions, identify fraud patterns, assess risks, and support prevention initiatives.

You will handle end-to-end investigations, from detection and triage to reporting, resolution, and prevention, with exposure to chargebacks and payment disputes. The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, precise reporting, and collaboration with internal teams to strengthen fraud detection and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in any relevant field.
• 1.5–3 years of fraud investigation or financial crime prevention experience.
• Experience managing end-to-end fraud investigations from detection to prevention.
• Hands-on experience with card, wire, online account, and check fraud.
• Strong knowledge of fraud typologies including identity theft, account takeover, and scams.
• Experience in fraud case triage and risk-based prioritization.
• Chargeback investigation and payment dispute experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end fraud investigations from detection to resolution and prevention.
• Investigate card, wire, online account, and check fraud.
• Assess urgency, severity, financial impact, and risk to prioritize cases.
• Identify fraud typologies and suspicious patterns in transaction data.
• Review chargebacks and payment disputes, evaluate evidence, and recommend actions.
• Prepare investigation reports with findings and mitigation recommendations.
• Monitor transactions and support compliance reviews and internal controls.
