Job summary

Human Nature is seeking a Formulation Specialist to lead the development and optimization of natural cosmetic products at our Carmelray plant in Laguna. You will drive formulation, costings, testing, and production trials, delivering ready-for-market products.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in cosmetic R&D, strong collaboration with QA, Regulatory, supply chain, and marketing, and a hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years R&D experience in a lab or manufacturing setup.
• Experience in cosmetic formulations and product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver timely new products from concept to launch.
• Guide R&D team and coordinate with cross-functional partners.
• Perform stability testing and document results; ensure GMP/GLP practices.

The successful candidate is responsible for the timely development of new products from the time of conceptualization to the search for appropriate ingredients, formulating, costing, sample preparation, a series of testing, production trial, up to product launch.

Responsibilities:

1. To ensure that all product development and related functions are complied accurately and promptly:

Regular Basis – Daily

• Assist the R&D operations Lead and Creative Director in guiding the R&D team in

• prioritizing projects and deliverables

• Help monitor the progress of new product development, reformulation, and alternative testing

• Monitor the status of new products and reformulations under development

• Update and upload accurate product formulation and costing on the shared drive

• Research about natural ingredients and market trends

• Request pertinent documents of new ingredients from suppliers and have it screened and

• approved before sampling and use.

• Prototyping of samples for new product development

• Establishing standard specification of new products

• Perform stability testing of products being developed, and complete the stability testing form

• Research possible causes of irritation and answer product customer complaints

• Ensure general cleanliness of office space and laboratory area by practicing 5S and GLP

Regular Basis – Periodically

• Preparation of Batch Manufacturing Record

• Validation of the first three (3) production batches of the new product

• Validation of existing products using alternative raw material or with formula/process adjustment

• Submit Process Validation Reports

• Attend NPD, SC coordination, and QA/R&D operational meetings

• Perform 5S and help with the inventory count in the laboratory

• Participate in the company-wide inventory count in the warehouse and the third-party manufacturer

• Research subjects as requested, and prepares a special presentation for management approval

• Investigation of production and quality issues

• Rework of bulk from production with issues

• Checking of ingredients list, the percent natural, and the product claims in the label

• Facilitate testing of raw materials with issues for production

• Performs other duties from time to time as may be assigned

2. To comply with all Gandang Kalikasan Inc. Policies and Procedures

3. Ensure that all responsibilities are done in a very professional manner not withstanding pressures from work. This includes:

• Courteousness in communicating with internal staff, third‑party service providers, and external suppliers/customers

• Take the initiative in helping/serving our internal and external customers under reasonable circumstances

4. Accountable for providing and helping build the Company by strengthening our culture of shared ownership and bayanihan.

5. Performs any and all other tasks and functions that may be assigned from time to time by his/her superior.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/College Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent

• With a minimum of 5 years of working experience in research and development in a laboratory or manufacturing set‑up.

• Has experience in formulations and development of different cosmetic products and applications

• Has experience ina supervisory role

• Familiar with good laboratory practices and can operate common laboratory equipment.

• Has a dynamic personality and must be able to work well with a team

• Has experience in collaborating with suppliers and third‑party testing labs

• With experience in collaborating with Supply Chain, QA, Regulatory, and marketing

• Must be willing to work in our manufacturing plant in Carmelray 1, Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna
