Vena Energy (Philippines) seeks a Forestry/Environmental professional to lead resource inventory efforts, ensuring accurate data collection, tree species identification, and coordination with field teams and DENR. The role includes plantation establishment supervision, site assessment, and reporting.
You will oversee nursery management, coordinate with PO partners, and prepare SOPs and plans for plantation projects, while maintaining compliance and safety standards at field sites.
Lead the team in conducting resource inventory (forest and agricultural resources).
Provide technical assistance for the methodology and strategies to be implemented in conducting the resource inventory, including:
Data gathering (GPS readings, tree mensuration, tagging)
Record keeping
Geotagging (waypoints and photos)
Correct identification of tree species
Facilitate coordination meetings with the GIS and on-site teams for the processing of inventory data.
Facilitate coordination meetings with the inventory team, including DENR personnel (e.g., toolbox talks and regular safety reminders).
Manage all physical and electronic copies of records and data gathered on the ground.
Ensure on-time submission of data to the GIS team for processing.
Prepare reports, including but not limited to:
Inventory sheets/tally sheets for the entire FLAg area, NGP area, and PCA data
Stand Stock Tables (NGP, FLAg, and PCA)
Geotagged photo layouts (NGP, FLAg, and PCA)
Inventory report (endorsement) (NGP, FLAg, and PCA)
Post-inspection reports (DENR and PCA)
Other reports deemed necessary
Assist in the identification and assessment of PO to be engaged for plantation establishment
Build rapport with the POs tasked to implement the plantation establishment or enhancement
Assist in the pre-evaluation of plantation sites including determination of site-species sustainability assessment and preparation of site evaluation report
Preparation of Plantation's Work and Financial Plan including Standard Operating Procedures for the Plantation Projects
Overall supervision of plantation establishment and/or plantation enhancement program of the company which include the following activities:
Plantation area inspection and preparation
Inspections of PO nurseries, selection of seedlings and species suitable in the plantation areas
Identification of seedling sources
Supervise the planting activities following the SOP for the plantation establishment/enhancement
Monitor maintenance activities on site
Provide technical assistance to PO relative to the project if needed
Prepares activity status report including budget monitoring
Prepare coordination notices to relevant teams/agencies
Closely coordinates with the following:
The Company - for instruction, activity status, implementation issues and concerns
PO - implementation of on-site activities including issues, concerns and requirements
DENR - schedules, inspections, relevant joint activities, technical guidance, monitoring and reports
Facilitate monitoring inspections in the Plantation Sites
Preparation of compliance reports for submission to DENR
Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
3-5 years of professional experience in forest or agricultural resource inventory, including proper identification of tree species, nursery management and plantation establishments
Knowledge of GPS, GIS, and data collection tools.
Ability to conduct tree mensuration.
With experience on community organizing or PO interactions
Good in writing technical and progress reports including preparation of power point presentations
