Summary of the Job

• In-charge in the overall implementation of the committed Land Resource Management activities under the Annual EPEP approved by MRFC in compliance with DAO 2010-21 and the ECC Conditions.
• Ensures the compliance of National Greening Program, Mining Forest Program, RA 9147 Wildlife Resource Conservation and Protection Act, PD 705 Forestry Code of the Philippines and Special Tree Cutting and Earth balling Permit (STCEP)
• Ensures the overall implementation of Land Resource Management Program (LRM) as planned in the AEPEP.
• Ensures the overall implementation of Biodiversity Management Program as planned in the AEPEP.
• Monitors compliance and results of LRM activities to assure adherence to government regulations.
• Monitors compliance and result of Biodiversity Management Program activities to assure adherence to government regulations.
• Establishes short and long terms plans for Biodiversity Management, Reforestation, Rehabilitation, Nursery Operation, and Forest Lands and Resource Management.
• Ensures the compliance of National Greening Program and Mining Forest Program.
• Ensures the compliance of RA 9147 Wildlife Resource Conservation and Protection Act, PD 705 Forestry Code of the Philippines and Special Tree Cutting and Earth balling Permit (STCEP)
• Assists in the conduct detailed tree inventory by the DENR personnel including species identification, diameter at breast height (DBH), height, and health status.
• Determines which trees are eligible for earth-balling (transplanting) versus cutting, based on ecological viability.
• Prepares and validates technical documents required for permit application: Tree inventory sheets, Site development plans, Photographic documentation, Sketch maps showing tree locations
• Ensures all submissions comply with DENR standards and are scientifically sound
• Oversees actual tree cutting and earth-balling operations to ensure they follow approved methods.
• Supervises contractors or field workers to prevent damage to surrounding vegetation and soil.
• Recommends and help implement compensatory planting programs.
• Monitors survival rates of transplanted trees and report findings to MEPEO and DENR.
• Serves as the technical point of contact between the mining company and DENR field offices.
• Assists in responding to queries or inspections related to forestry compliance.
• Plans and designs landscaping activities as part of the rehabilitation efforts of the company.
• Ensures all landscaping activities are on schedule and ensure care and maintenance.
• Analyzes effect of forest conditions on tree growth rates and tree species prevalence.
• Plans and implements projects for conservation of flora and fauna, forest surveys and related studies and prepare reports and recommendations.
• Leads the team in the provision of care and maintenance of the reforestation and rehabilitation area.
• Assists in the establishment of soil erosion control at areas susceptible to soil erosion such as development areas, mine areas, waste dump areas and other disturbed areas.
• Liaises with Mines and Engineering Department for the plans and designs needed for the reforestation and rehabilitation of determined areas.
• Prepares and submits periodic accomplishment and regulatory reports to the MEPEO Head.
• Ensures proper housekeeping in all areas.
• Consistently be at work on time as scheduled.
• Performs other tasks or assignments as deemed necessary.
• Performs other tasks or assignments as maybe necessary or assigned from time to time by the immediate head to accomplish the target of the Company as a whole.
• Faithfully comply with all the rules and regulations, standard operating procedures, and notices pertaining to Safety Health and Environment and the Company’s Code of Conduct.
• Facilitates administrative and financial documents of the department;
• Promotes, raises awareness, and trains staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities.
