A Food Server is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring guests have an enjoyable dining experience. They take food and beverage orders, serve meals, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere in the dining area.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction:
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Provide menus and offer detailed knowledge of menu items and specials.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them to the kitchen staff.
Order Delivery:
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
- Check back with customers to ensure their satisfaction during the meal.
- Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints professionally.
Cleanliness and Organization:
- Clear and clean tables after guests leave.
- Set tables with proper utensils, glassware, and linens for new guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area at all times.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
- Assist in restocking supplies, such as napkins, condiments, and silverware.
- Support colleagues during busy periods or special events.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Previous experience as a food server or in the hospitality industry (advantageous).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills for billing and payment processing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying trays or other items up to 25 pounds.
