The Food Server is responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking and delivering food and beverage orders, and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, maintaining cleanliness, and collaborating with team members to meet customer satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
- Greet guests promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Present menus, provide recommendations, and answer questions about menu items, specials, and beverages.
- Take accurate food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure all items meet quality standards.
Order Management:
- Handle special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies with attention to detail.
- Verify food orders before serving to ensure accuracy.
Dining Area Maintenance:
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses.
- Clear and clean tables after guests have finished dining.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining and serving areas.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist coworkers during peak times or busy shifts.
Payment Handling:
- Present bills, accept payments, and provide change or receipts.
- Handle cash, credit, and other payment methods securely and accurately.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Previous experience in food service, customer service, or hospitality (preferred but not always required).
Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards (preferred).
