The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for delivering outstanding dining experiences to guests by providing excellent customer service. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables.
- Present menus, provide detailed information about menu items, and answer questions.
- Make food and beverage recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by promptly addressing their needs and concerns.
Order Management
- Accurately take food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen/bar staff.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner.
- Ensure order accuracy and follow up with guests after serving.
Table Maintenance
- Set up and prepare tables before guests arrive.
- Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently after guests leave.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
Experience
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress or in a customer service role (preferred but not always required).
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when taking orders.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Understanding of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods (training may be provided).
