The General Manager is responsible for the overall management and growth of the company’s distribution business for medical testing kits, hospital consumables, and related healthcare products. The role oversees business operations, sales and distribution, supplier and customer relationships, inventory, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and team management.
The General Manager will ensure the efficient and compliant distribution of products to hospitals, laboratories, clinics, pharmacies, distributors, and other healthcare institutions while driving revenue growth and maintaining strong customer and supplier partnerships.
Oversee the overall operations and day-to-day management of the distribution business.
Develop and implement business strategies, sales plans, and operational initiatives to achieve company targets.
Lead the distribution and sales of medical testing kits, hospital consumables, and related healthcare products.
Develop and maintain relationships with hospitals, laboratories, clinics, pharmacies, distributors, healthcare professionals, and other key accounts.
Identify new business opportunities, markets, products, and potential customers to support business expansion.
Manage supplier relationships, including product sourcing, pricing, negotiations, availability, and delivery requirements.
Oversee purchasing, inventory planning, warehousing, order fulfillment, and distribution to ensure product availability and timely delivery.
Monitor inventory levels, product movement, expiry dates, and slow-moving or near-expiry items to minimize losses.
Ensure proper handling, storage, transportation, and documentation of medical and hospital-related products.
Monitor sales performance, revenue, gross margins, operating costs, and overall profitability of the business.
Prepare and monitor annual budgets, sales forecasts, and business plans in coordination with Management.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales, operations, inventory, customer service, and distribution.
Lead, coach, and manage the sales, operations, warehouse, logistics, and administrative teams.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, permits, licenses, and industry requirements governing the distribution of medical products and hospital consumables.
Coordinate with regulatory and quality personnel to ensure that products and business processes meet applicable regulatory and quality standards.
Address customer concerns, delivery issues, product complaints, and other operational concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Review and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
Provide regular management reports covering sales, inventory, operations, financial performance, and business development.
Work closely with Finance, HR, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, and other internal teams to ensure smooth business operations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by Management.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Healthcare Management, Medical Technology, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field.
At least 5–8 years of relevant experience in general management, distribution, sales, healthcare, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, or a related industry.
Experience in medical testing kits, hospital consumables, medical devices, diagnostics, or healthcare product distribution is highly preferred.
Proven experience in managing business operations, sales, inventory, and distribution teams.
Strong background in business development, account management, supplier negotiations, and sales strategy.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to medical products and healthcare supplies in the Philippines.
Strong financial and business acumen, including understanding of costing, pricing, margins, budgeting, and profitability.
Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
Willingness to travel for client meetings, supplier coordination, business development, and operational requirements.
