Job Description
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment owned by the company
Arrange for the purchase and delivery of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all vehicles and equipment purchased are licensed and registered as required by law
Maintain a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc.
Supervise all Fleet Services employees, including training, evaluating, and disciplining employees
Tasks List and Activities
Implement and monitor an effective preventative maintenance program
Adjust and administer all Fleet Service purchases, including parts, tools, and office supplies
Check all repair work performed in shop for completeness, including physical inspections and road tests before vehicle is returned to user departments
Enforce safety practices and procedures and ensure employees receive appropriate safety training
Implement and maintain a mechanic training and certification program to provide needed technical skills for mechanics in repair of automobiles and heavy equipment
Monitor user departments by analyzing vehicle and equipment utilization and evaluating equipment specifications
Select the right vehicles and maintain them in good operating condition to meet company distribution objectives efficiently and cost-effectively
Assist in the development of the Fleet Services budget, including reviewing past year expenses and income
Examine and write reports for accuracy on each vehicle and piece of equipment repaired
Write reports on vehicles and equipment repaired
Assign, schedule, and dispatch vehicles according to the needs of the Logistics Operation
Perform related duties as required
Job Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, or any related course (preferred)
Vocational or technical training related to automotive or transport management is an advantage
Experience in supervising drivers and handling vehicle maintenance for at least 2 to 3 years is required
Valid professional driver’s license
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations
Familiarity with LTO regulations, vehicle registration, and transport compliance
