Job summary

Cloudstaff Philippines Inc. is seeking a meticulous Fixed Assets Accountant to ensure accurate asset tracking, depreciation calculations, and fixed asset reconciliations.

You will work with cross-functional teams to keep the general ledger up to date and compliant with company policies and GAAP standards. The role involves reviewing asset acquisitions and disposals, preparing detailed asset reports, and supporting internal and external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with fixed assets accounting preferred.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Experience with month-end close process and finance controls.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Work-From-Office is a setup based in Angeles/Makati.

TheFixed Assets Accountantwill primarily be responsible for the accuracy of fixed asset accounting. This position includes, but is not limited to, ensuring timely reconciliation and review of fixed assets, recording and reconciling depreciation and amortization, and monitoring disposition of assets. This position requires working with cross functional partners to ensure information regarding fixed asset transactions is accurately recorded in the general ledger.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Record and classify all domestic and international fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of fixed asset data, including descriptions, locations, useful lives, and depreciation methods.
• Monitor and reconcile fixed asset sub-ledgers to the general ledger on a regular basis.
• Calculate and record monthly depreciation and amortization expenses for fixed and intangible assets using appropriate methods and rates.
• Establish and maintain internal controls related to fixed asset accounting, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Prepare accurate and timely fixed asset reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Collaborate cross functionally with business partners to understand fixed asset additions, disposals, etc.
• Compile fixed asset accrual information and prepare monthly fixed asset accrual journal entries.
• Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances.
• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
• Assist team with any ad hoc research, clean-up, reporting projects.
• Review and approve purchase orders to identify correct accounting treatment (capitalize or expense).
• Conduct quarterly impairment reviews of fixed assets.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 3-5 years of total accounting experience, with experience in fixed assets accounting
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Must be detail oriented
• Strong understanding of GAAP standards
• Experience with process improvement and proficiency with spreadsheets
• Hands-on experience with the month end financial close process (preferred)
• Experience with Oracle preferred
