Job summary

Black & White Engineering in Manila is seeking a Hydraulics Engineer to join our growing team. You will support design development, calculations, and technical documents under senior guidance within a multi-disciplinary design group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience.
• MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent is an advantage.
• Chartered Engineer status is an advantage.
• Knowledge of hot/cold-water, sanitary, drainage, fire protection, gas systems.
• Familiar with IPC, UPC, ASPE, NFPA, EN, ASHRAE standards.
• Aware of regulations in Europe/Middle East; FM Global/VdS advantageous.
• Proficient in Word/Excel.
• Ability to use IT-based calculations/spreadsheets.
• Knowledge of Revit and CAD.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs, calculations, reports, and technical documents.
• Check drawings and calculations for compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Produce project deliverables within agreed schedules.
• Prepare mark‑ups for CAD and Revit teams.
• Support small project delivery and assigned tasks.

• Attend technical meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Assist in coordinating and resolving design-stage issues.

We are looking for a Hydraulics Engineer to join our growing team in Manila. In this role, you will support the development of designs, calculations, reports, and technical documents under the guidance of senior engineers, while working as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary design team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop designs, calculations, reports, and technical documents in line with project requirements.
• Check drawings, calculations, and documents for consistency and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Produce drawings, calculations, reports, and other project deliverables, ensuring they are completed within agreed schedules.
• Prepare mark-ups for the CAD and Revit teams.
• Support the delivery of small projects and assigned project tasks.
• Conduct research on the latest trends and developments in public health and fire protection systems.
• Research and support code compliance with local regulations across different countries.
• Attend technical meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Assist in coordinating and resolving technical issues during the design stage of projects.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant working experience.
• Working towards MCIBSE/MIEE or equivalent is an advantage.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of hot and cold-water systems, sanitary plumbing, surface water drainage, fire protection systems, and gas systems.
• Knowledge of international design practices and standards, including IPC, UPC, ASPE, NFPA, EN Codes, and ASHRAE.
• Knowledge of local regulations across European and Middle Eastern countries, as well as insurer requirements such as FM Global and VdS, is an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software.
• Basic working knowledge of Revit and CAD.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
