Job Description:
Financial Controller – Global Infrastructure

Financial Close, Infrastructure Cost Control, Reporting, SOX Compliance, and Data Integrity

Help safeguard the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial information across Global Infrastructure

At ING, reliable financial information enables effective infrastructure cost management, regulatory compliance, and sound decision-making. Our Finance teams provide the control, transparency, and analysis needed to maintain confidence in reported results.

We are looking for a Financial Controller – Global Infrastructure to join ING Hubs Philippines as part of Global Finance. The role focuses on financial close, infrastructure cost control, charging and allocations, reporting, internal controls, and data quality.

Role Summary

You will manage financial control activities for assigned Global Infrastructure cost areas, ensuring that financial information is complete, accurate, timely, and supported by a strong control environment.

You will validate month-end close and actuals, maintain cost and FTE transparency, reconcile charging and allocations, support forecasting and Dynamic Planning, prepare financial commentary, resolve data issues, and maintain audit-ready evidence for internal control and SOX requirements.

Success requires strong accounting and financial-control expertise, an understanding of technology infrastructure cost drivers, and effective collaboration with Finance, Infrastructure, CTO, service management, procurement, and other global stakeholders.

About the Team

You will join the Global Finance community supporting Global Infrastructure from ING Hubs Philippines. Working with senior controllers and international stakeholders, the team provides reliable reporting, transparent infrastructure cost management, disciplined charging and allocations, and strong financial governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate actuals and month-end close for assigned Global Infrastructure cost areas, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial reports covering infrastructure costs, FTEs, accruals, prepayments, capitalization, amortization, and run-rate movements.
  • Execute and reconcile charging, cost allocations, recharges, and cross-functional budget transfers using approved principles and consumption drivers.
  • Analyze variances and unusual movements, resolve unreconciled balances and data issues, and prepare clear commentary on performance, risks, and forecast impact.
  • Support forecasting and Dynamic Planning by validating baselines, assumptions, cost drivers, organizational changes, and expected infrastructure demand.
  • Maintain control over infrastructure operating costs and investments, including accounting treatment, cost classification, commitments, and supporting documentation.
  • Execute and evidence internal controls, support SOX and audit requirements, and maintain complete, audit-ready records.
  • Monitor financial data quality and resolve mapping, hierarchy, interface, and master-data issues affecting reports.
  • Partner with Finance, Infrastructure, CTO, service management, procurement, and accounting teams to clarify movements and improve transparency.
  • Simplify, standardize, and automate recurring close, reconciliation, allocation, control, and reporting activities while documenting critical procedures.
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or a relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
  • At least 5–7 years of experience in financial controlling, accounting, cost control, management reporting, or planning and analysis.
  • Experience in technology infrastructure, IT finance, banking, shared services, telecommunications, cloud, data centres, networks, workplace technology, or another asset- and service-intensive environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close, actuals reporting, reconciliations, accruals, cost‑centre accounting, allocations, forecasting support, variance analysis, and financial commentary.
  • Understanding of infrastructure cost drivers, consumption-based charging, fixed and variable costs, investments, capitalization, amortization, contracts, and vendor expenses.
  • Strong control mindset and experience with internal controls, SOX, audit support, control testing, or financial-risk remediation.
  • Strong analytical and data‑management skills, with the ability to work with large and complex financial datasets.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Hyperion, SmartView, Oracle EPM, SAP, Power BI, Power Query, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Clear communication, ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively across functions, cultures, locations, and time zones.
