THUNDERBIRD PILIPINAS HOTELS AND RESORTS INC is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee financial management, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance across our properties. You will ensure accurate records, develop financial strategies, monitor budgets and cash flow, and deliver timely management reports.

The ideal candidate has a CPA and a Bachelor’s in Accountancy or Finance, with at least seven years in finance, including three in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive finance experience, including three in management.
• Hospitality, gaming, or resort industry experience preferred.

About the role

The position will be a Financial Controller who is responsible for overseeing the overall financial management, accounting operations, and regulatory compliance of Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos. The position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, develops financial strategies, monitors budgets and cash flow, and provides management with timely financial reports to support business decisions. The Financial Controller also ensures compliance with applicable laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements, including those imposed by gaming authorities and government agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all accounting records and financial reports.
• Monitor the company's financial performance and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Analyze financial data, trends, and variances to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Prepare management reports, forecasts, and financial analyses.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasts.
• Monitor departmental budgets and operating expenses to ensure cost efficiency.
• Develop financial models and projections to support business initiatives and capital investments.
• Supervise general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and treasury operations.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
• At least seven (7) years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least three (3) years in a managerial role.
• Experience in the hospitality, gaming, casino, or resort industry is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with PAGCOR regulations and casino financial operations is an advantage.
• Proficient in financial management systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
