JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Head is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity, strong internal control environment, and strategic financial planning of the resort.
This role combines both operational finance (accounting, compliance, controls) and strategic finance (forecasting, investment analysis, and decision support).
Ensures:
- Accuracy and timeliness of financial data
- Effective cash flow management
- Strict implementation of internal controls
- Sound financial decision-making and capital allocation
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare and oversee monthly financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing
- Maintain integrity of accounting records and general ledger
- Supervise accounting team and ensure proper documentation
- Coordinate external audits and maintain audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with BIR and other regulatory requirements
B. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage daily and long-term cash position
- Prepare rolling 12–24 month cash flow forecasts
- Monitor liquidity and working capital
- Maintain banking relationships and support financing requirements
- Evaluate funding options (debt vs internal cash)
C. Internal Controls & Compliance
- Establish and enforce internal control systems
- Oversee revenue audit and ensure completeness of reported income
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and approval matrix
- Safeguard company assets and prevent revenue leakage
- Maintain proper audit trail and documentation
D. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the annual budgeting process
- Perform monthly variance analysis with actionable insights
- Develop financial projections and forecastsAnalyze departmental profitability and cost drivers
- Provide financial insights to support operational improvements
E. Capital Expenditure & Investment Analysis
- Evaluate renovation and expansion projects
- Develop financial models (ROI, IRR, NPV, Payback)
- Assess financial viability of capital investments
- Conduct sensitivity analysis (occupancy, ADR, cost assumptions)
- Support management in capital allocation decisions
F. Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance team
- Improve finance processes and reporting systems
- Implement automation and system enhancements
- Strengthen coordination between Finance and Operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- 7–12+ years of experience in finance/accounting
- Hospitality or resort experience is an advantage
- Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills
- Knowledge of Philippine tax laws and compliance requirements
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis
