BERNHARD SCHULTE SHIPMANAGEMENT INTERNATIONAL (PHILIPPINES) CORP. seeks an experienced Financial Accounting Team Lead to guide a team of accounting professionals delivering accurate financial reporting for an international portfolio.

You will ensure timely financial statements and partner with clients and internal stakeholders. The role requires a degree in accounting, 5+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in supervision, strong IFRS knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience in financial statement preparation and review.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and accounting principles.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants.
• Monitor team performance against KPIs and service standards.
• Review work deliverables and provide technical guidance and feedback.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and career development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate external and statutory audits.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Accounting Team Lead to lead a team of accounting professionals providing accounting, financial reporting, and compliance services to an international portfolio of companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial information, maintaining high service quality standards, managing stakeholder relationships, and developing team members within a dynamic shared-services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Accountants and Senior Accountants
