Job description

Powerhouse Innovations Inc. is a technology-first company, built for the mass market electricity consumers to switch directly to a retail electricity supplier (RES) and access cheaper generation rates.

Through our platform, we enable all end-users to become eligible even if they do not meet the existing threshold (currently at 100kW, or equivalent to a ₱350,000 monthly bill) and simplify the switching process. We are part of the AboitizPower group, the Philippines’ largest energy producer based on installed capacity, through its wholly-owned corporate venture studio, 1882 Energy Ventures Incorporated.

THE ROLE

The Finance Manager owns the numbers Powerhouse is run and funded on. The role spans the operating cadence — planning, forecasting, and management reporting — the analytical work behind commercial and strategic decisions, and the standing up of an accounting function that today sits largely with external providers. You will present to the Board and reconcile an account in the same week, and both need to be done well.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own financial planning and analysis. Build and run the budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting cycle. Produce the monthly pack leadership and the Board actually decide from, with variance explained rather than described.
  • Own the financial model. Maintain the operating and fundraising model: unit economics, contribution margin, cost to acquire and cost to serve, and cash runway. Keep it accurate enough that an investor can be walked through it line by line.
  • Support commercial decisions. Price and stress-test commercial arrangements, incentive structures, and partner terms. Be the person who can say what a deal is actually worth.
  • Build the accounting function. Assess what stays outsourced and what comes in-house, hire and lead the accounting team, and establish the close calendar, chart of accounts, controls, and policies. Own statutory reporting, tax, and BIR compliance.
  • Run treasury and working capital. Cash forecasting, collections discipline, banking relationships, and the funding requirements implied by the growth plan.
  • Support corporate planning and fundraising. Long-range planning, scenario analysis, capital requirements, and the financial content within Board, shareholder, and investor materials.
  • Partner with the business. Give Commercial and Technology the numbers they need to decide, in a form they can use.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In your first 12 months
  • A monthly close and reporting cycle running on a fixed calendar and consistently hitting it.
  • A financial model leadership trusts and can defend externally without rework before every meeting.
  • Unit economics reported as measured actuals rather than as assumptions.
  • An accounting function structured, staffed, and compliant.
  • A cash forecast accurate enough to plan hiring and spend against.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 6+ years across financial planning and analysis, financial analysis, audit, or corporate finance, including ownership of a full planning and reporting cycle.
  • Advanced financial modelling. You build models others rely on and can defend every assumption inside them.
  • Working knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, tax, and BIR compliance.
  • Experience setting up or materially rebuilding a finance process, not only operating one someone else built.
  • Ability to move between Board-level framing and the detail of a reconciliation without losing either.
  • Certified Public Accountant. CFA charterholder or candidate is a significant advantage.
Advantageous
  • Experience in an early-stage or venture-backed company alongside time in a larger corporate.
  • Exposure to energy, utilities, infrastructure, or another regulated sector.
  • Fundraising or investment committee process experience.
  • Comfort with SQL, Power BI, or Looker for working directly with operational data.
