Job summary

Save the Children Philippines is hiring a Finance Assistant to support the financial management of the Philippine Sponsorship donor-funded program. The role ensures accurate processing of financial transactions, maintains documentation, and supports donor compliance in liaison with the Senior Finance Officer and program teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration.
  • Knowledge of financial documentation, cash and bank transaction processing, liquidation review, expense tracking, and records management.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail when processing financial transactions and supporting financial reporting requirements.
  • Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to coordinate with field-based staff and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using financial or accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • The Finance Assistant provides dedicated support to financial management by ensuring accurate, timely processing of financial transactions and maintaining complete documentation.

Job Description

The FinanceAssistant provides dedicated support to the financial management of thePhilippine Sponsorship donor-funded program by ensuring accurate and timelyprocessing of financial transactions, maintaining complete financialdocumentation, and supporting compliance with organizational and donorrequirements. Working closelywith the Senior Finance Officer, Finance Officer, program teams, and fieldstaff, the role contributes to strong internal controls, accountability, auditreadiness, and efficient program implementation through effective financeadministration and coordination across field operations.

Requirements

Essential skills,knowledge or experience

  • Experience infinance, accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration, preferablywithin a non-government organization (NGO) or development setting
  • Knowledge offinancial documentation, cash and bank transaction processing, liquidationreview, expense tracking, and records management
  • Ability tomaintain accuracy and attention to detail when processing financialtransactions and supporting financial reporting requirements
  • Goodorganizational skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills, with theability to coordinate effectively with field-based staff and multiplestakeholders
  • Proficiency inMicrosoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience in usingfinancial or accounting systems

Desirable skills,knowledge or experience

  • Experienceworking on donor-funded projects and familiarity with donor compliancerequirements and financial documentation standards
  • Experiencesupporting field office operations, including cash advances, liquidationmonitoring, procurement documentation, and audit preparation.
  • Knowledge ofinternal control procedures, segregation of duties, and financial riskmanagement practices.
  • Experience usingenterprise resource planning (ERP) systems or computerized accounting software.
  • Ability to workindependently in a field-based environment with minimal supervision.

Required educationand qualifications (certifications,licenses, accreditations, etc.)

  • Bachelor’sdegree in accountancy, Management Accounting, Financial Management, BusinessAdministration, or any related field.
  • At least one (1)year of relevant experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, oradministrative finance support
  • Training orcertification in accounting, bookkeeping, financial management, or relateddisciplines is an advantage
