About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Field Service & Applications Engineer to join our NanoAnalysis team supporting customers across Southeast Asia. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced scientific instrumentation professional with expertise in Raman Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), and ideally exposure to SEM, EDS, EBSD, Nanoindentation, Nanomanipulation, and related nanotechnology solutions.
In this customer-facing role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, application support, and training of advanced analytical instrumentation used in leading research institutions, universities, semiconductor facilities, and industrial laboratories throughout the region.
You will become a trusted technical advisor to customers while helping drive customer satisfaction, service revenue growth, and long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and verify the performance of advanced NanoAnalysis systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure systems operate according to specification and are returned to full functionality promptly.
- Deliver customer training on instrument operation, maintenance, and best practices.
- Support growth of maintenance contracts, spare parts sales, and service offerings.
- Maintain service tools, equipment, and technical documentation.
Applications & Technical Support
- Provide application support for Raman Microscopy, AFM, EDS, EBSD, Nanoindentation, and Nanomanipulation solutions.
- Conduct customer demonstrations, workshops, and product presentations.
- Assist commercial teams with technical pre-sales activities.
- Act as a technical subject matter expert and build strong customer relationships.
- Collaborate with global technical support teams to resolve complex issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain regular communication with users.
- Organize and support seminars, user meetings, and technical workshops.
- Advise customers on upgrades, service contracts, new technologies, and product enhancements.
- Ensure customer visits are thoroughly planned and executed efficiently.
- Complete service reports and documentation following each customer visit.
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide feedback to product development, engineering, and management teams.
- Share market intelligence, customer insights, and potential sales opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, Nanotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Raman Microscopy
- Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
- Experience supporting customers using analytical or scientific instrumentation.
- Background in one or more of the following:
- Applications Support
- Technical Service
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficient with PC hardware and software.
- Valid driver's license.
