Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a facilities operations professional to operate, maintain and repair facilities equipment with minimal downtime and cost.

The candidate should have 6+ years of related experience, strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, diagram literacy, and leadership ability. Responsibilities include overseeing contractor work, responding to production issues, and documenting shift activities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of work experience in related fields.
• Preferably college level in engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics).
• Able to read, interpret and analyze electrical and/or mechanical diagrams.
• Able to lead a team and initiate small group activities for facilities concerns.
• Must knowhow to identify, analyze, troubleshoot and repair electrical and/or mechanical problems.
• Must know how to use common electrical & mechanical tools.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains and repairs facilities equipment with minimum cost and downtime at optimum efficiency.
• Highlights events, conditions or incidents that could affect reliable, continuous operation of facilities equipment.
• Monitors contractors’ activities; ensures safety policies and quality standards are followed.
• Responds to production concerns about facilities/building; deploys technicians as needed.
• Acts as shift-in-charge in the absence of the shift supervisor.
• Prepares reports for trouble/incidents during the shift.
• Validates records and reports; initiates improvements in performance.
• Initiates communications with production for projects, unplanned shutdowns, or emergencies.
• Suggests system improvements to reduce costs and extend equipment life.
• Initiates disciplinary actions for outsourced technicians.
