Thames International School seeks an experienced Facilities Manager to lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, ensuring safe, reliable operations across all school facilities.
The role involves budget oversight, vendor management, and coordinating with departments to meet facility needs while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Supervision & Leadership:
Lead and supervise the facilities maintenance team, providing guidance and support for daily operations.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and support professional development for team members.
Maintenance Oversight:
Schedule and oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of all facilities and equipment.
Ensure that all work is performed to industry standards and complies with legislative and safety regulations.
Safety Management:
Develop and implement safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff and contractors.
Budgeting & Cost Management:
Assist in the development and management of the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Monitor expenses and make recommendations for budget adjustments as needed.
Vendor Management:
Coordinate and oversee work performed by contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and timeliness.
Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to achieve the best results.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and incidents.
Prepare reports for management on facility performance, maintenance issues, and budgetary matters.
Project Management:
Plan and manage facility improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Collaborate with other departments to understand their facility needs and develop solutions.
Customer Service:
Address facility-related inquiries and concerns from staff and visitors promptly and professionally.
Build positive relationships with all stakeholders to enhance the overall facility experience.
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management or maintenance supervision.
Proven experience in managing maintenance staff and contractors.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and facilities management software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification in Facilities Management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA) is a plus.
