Job summary

Ionics EMS Inc. is seeking a Logistics staff to manage RFQ processes with forwarders and courier providers for import/export needs, and to summarize quotes for economical transport choices.

You will gather shipment forecasts, plan movements, and coordinate with Purchasing to ensure compliant cargo movement and cost-effective routing. You will also update rate lists, run freight cost analyses, maintain shipping documentation, and generate logistics reports.

Qualifications

• Updates and maintains approved forwarders and their rates.
• Analyzes freight and handling expenses and suggests improvements.
• Prepares consolidated logistics reports for superiors.
• Keeps records of approved rates, forwarders' profiles and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Prepares consolidated logistics reports and submits to superior.
• Receives and checks shipping documents and updates Import data base.
• Keeps records of approved rates, forwarders' profiles and SOPs.
• Handles safekeeping of logistics quality records.
• Sends updates on Approved Forwarders List and Freight Calculator.
• Summarizes Forwarders' KPIs and owns section KPIs.
• Performs other duties as assigned after training.

The Logistics staff is responsible for sending Request for Quotations (RFQ) to Forwarders and Courier Service provider, summarize and analyze quotes and recommends approval. Responsible in gathering shipment forecast, does shipment planning and recommends the most economical service type and mode of transport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1. Sends request for quotation to reputable Forwarder and Courier service providers for any import and export requirement.
• 2. Prepares cost comparison of the quotations received. Simulate the data and recommends approval for the lowest bid.
• 3. Updates list of Approved Forwarders and their rates. Coordinate with Traffic billing for any change in rates.
• 4. Analyze Freight and Handling expense and recommends improvement actions as necessary.
• 5 Coordinates with Purchasing in the event that recommended movement of cargo does not comply with the recommended service or mode.
• 6. Prepares a consolidated Logistics reports and submits such to her superior.
• 7. Receives and check shipping documents and update Import data base
• 8. Keep records such as approved rates, forwarders' profile and SOP.
• 9. Handles safekeeping of Logistics quality records.
• 10. Sends update on the following: - Approved Forwarders List - Freight Calculator
• 11. Summarize Forwarders' Key Performance Indicator.
• 12. Owns section's Key Performance Indicator.
• 13. Performs other duties as may be required by the superior after due training /qualification.
