Job summary

Job description

Schneider Electric - Advisory Services develops and delivers high-impact carbon projects in the fields of forestry and blue carbon, working in close partnership with local stakeholders, technical experts, and investors. The projects aim to generate high-quality carbon credits in compliance with leading international standards, while ensuring robust, long-term implementation on the ground.

You will join the team responsible for carbon project development and portfolio management and collaborate closely with analytical, technical, and operational profiles involved across the entire project crediting cycle.

Your role:

You are responsible for leading and overseeing the Forest & Blue Carbon project portfolio, ensuring overall technical quality, compliance with carbon standards (VERRA, Gold Standard, etc.), and strong performance throughout all phases of the carbon crediting cycle.

The position requires regular field presence and frequent travel to project sites, primarily located in emerging economies.

Your missions:
1. Lead and supervise the project portfolio
  • Lead and supervise the full Forest & Blue Carbon project portfolio, ensuring high-quality implementation and compliance at every stage of the carbon crediting cycle.
  • Ensure alignment with applicable carbon standards and methodologies, including VERRA, Gold Standard, and AFOLU frameworks.
2. Develop new project opportunities
  • Identify, screen, and structure new forest and blue carbon project opportunities.
  • Work closely with local partners, technical experts, and investors to design robust and credible projects.
3. Oversee technical quality and carbon certification
  • Oversee key technical deliverables, including carbon baselines, methodologies, Project Design Documents (PDDs), MRV plans, and monitoring reports.
  • Ensure smooth validation and verification processes and timely issuance of carbon credits.
4. Manage stakeholders and partnerships
  • Manage strategic relationships with all project stakeholders, including local partners, communities, investors, public authorities, and certification bodies.
  • Ensure strong stakeholder engagement and effective coordination across all parties involved.
5. Lead and develop the project development team
  • Lead, coach, and support the project development team (Analysts, Officers, Leads).
  • Ensure performance management, skills development, and capacity building within the team.
6. Ensure financial and contractual oversight
  • Review and validate business models, budgets, financial projections, and investment requirements for each project.
  • Oversee contractual aspects, including support to negotiations, legal compliance, and proper structuring of project agreements.
7. Contribute to strategy and external representation
  • Contribute to business unit strategy, sector positioning, and external representation at industry events, conferences, and working groups.
8. Ensure field follow-up and implementation quality
  • Maintain regular field presence to secure implementation quality, operational follow-up, and long-term stakeholder engagement at the project level.
Your profile:
  • You have 10+ years of professional experience in carbon project development, nature-based solutions, forestry, land-use, or blue carbon initiatives.
  • You demonstrate strong expertise in carbon standards and methodologies, including VERRA, Gold Standard, and AFOLU frameworks, with hands‑on experience in PDD development, MRV processes, and credit issuance.
  • You have proven experience managing complex projects, ideally in emerging markets, with substantial field exposure.
  • You have a solid understanding of legal and contractual frameworks related to carbon projects and partnerships.
  • You bring confirmed experience in team leadership, working with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are considered an asset.

  • Ability to lead and manage complex projects across the full project lifecycle.
  • Strong financial acumen, including business model validation, profitability analysis, and budget management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with investors, NGOs, local partners, and technical teams.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Agile, proactive, and solution-oriented, with the ability to operate in dynamic and demanding environments.
  • Willingness and availability to travel frequently to project locations.
