Job summary

Bonpack Corporation in Rizal is seeking an Environmental, Safety and Sanitation Assistant (ESSA) to support the ESS Officer with safety procedures, inspections, training, and record-keeping for admin matters across the plant.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, 1–2 years of related safety experience or fresh graduates, strong knowledge of OHS and food-safety standards, good computer skills, and the ability to coordinate with government agencies while maintaining a proactive approach

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field.
• 1–2 years’ work experience as safety officer/pest control/sanitation officer/pollution control officer is preferred.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• In-depth knowledge of OHS, environmental laws, food safety standards (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GWP, GMP) is a plus.

Job description

Role Profile:

The Environmental, Safety and Sanitation Assistant (ESSA) reports to Environment, Safety and Sanitation Officer (ESSO). Assist in implementing safety procedures, conducting regular inspections, providing essential training to employees, managing waste disposal, pest control monitoring, responding effectively to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records pertaining to ADMIN matters.

Responsible in maintaining a secure and compliant working environment for both employees and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide general support and assistance to the ESS Officer.

Ensure all administrative checklists and documents are up-to-date.

Responsible for all administrative PR requests, monitoring, and coordination with Purchasing department.

Responsible for tracking and recording data/checklist related to grinding, waste disposal, sanitation, and pest control.

Checking in monitoring on the implementation of environmental and safety protocols inside the plant premises (i.e. Fire Extinguisher, Fire Exit and Fire Hose Cabinet are free from any obstruction, ensuring all personnel are wearing the appropriate PPE in their area, proper waste segregation etc.).

Assists in following up corrective and preventive actions as part of relevant department’s compliance to audit findings.

Assists in the identification of impacts/hazards and in the preparation of risk assessments and training of employees with regard to environmental, health & safety initiatives.

Serves as assistant secretary to the Safety Committee.

Complies with and responds to food safety, environment, health & safety standards and regulations of Bonpack Corporation.

Assists in coordination with government agencies (e.g. the Bureau of Fire and Protection, Department of Labor and Employment, Laguna Lake Development Authority, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources, etc.).

Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy and establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring and efficient and effective work environment.

Qualifications:

Graduate of a 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field.

Has at least 1 to 2 years’ work experience as safety officer/pest control/sanitation officer/pollution control officer is preferred.

But fresh graduate is welcome to apply.

Possesses in-depth knowledge of OHS, environmental laws, food safety standards (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GWP, GMP), and relevant certifications (OHS, Pest Control, Pollution Control) is a plus.

Has knowledge of proper waste management, sanitation practices, and relevant pest control practices for both internal and external plant premises.

Proficiency in the use of a computer and the appropriate applications / programs necessary for the effective delivery of duties and responsibilities

Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.

Good interpersonal relationship skills and ability to handle stressful situations calmly emergencies.

Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices, familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics and writing reports and policies.

Ability to plan for and keep track multiple projects and deadlines and diligent with great attention to detail.
