Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines is seeking an Engineering People Manager to lead a pod of 8-12 site reliability engineers. You will own people management, capability development, and shift operations across a 24x7 schedule, including the night band.

You will coach junior and mid-level engineers, drive performance processes, and shape career progression. The role requires strong communication and a proven coaching track record in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE or DevOps.
• 2+ years as a people manager or team lead.
• Technical baseline: Linux, Kubernetes, a public cloud, an observability stack, and incident process.
• Proven coaching capability with engineers who advanced under you.
• Willingness to rotate shift bands with your pod, including night shifts.
• Comfort handling difficult conversations about behaviour or performance without escalation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a pod of 8-12 site reliability engineers across the employment relationship.
• Run 24x7 operations with rotation alongside the night band.
• Oversee performance cycles, goals, development plans and wellbeing.
• Coordinate onboarding for new joiners and Academy graduates and build training plans.
• Interview for the group, identify successors, and build promotion cases.
