Job summary

Comrise is seeking an Engineering People Manager to lead a pod of 8–12 SRE/DevOps engineers across 24x7 operations, including night shifts. You will drive growth, performance, behavior, and wellbeing across the team, shaping senior trajectories in a population with a large junior base.

You will own staffing, performance cycles, training plans, and the rota, ensuring onboarding for new joiners and academy graduates while maintaining shift health indicators and effective escalation when needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SRE or DevOps, with 2+ years as a people manager or team lead.
• Coaching capability with engineers advancing under you.
• Technical baseline to coach juniors: Linux, Kubernetes, public cloud, observability, and incident process.
• Willingness to rotate shift bands, including the night band.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a pod of 8–12 SRE/DevOps engineers and manage growth, performance, behavior, and wellbeing.
• Own staffing, performance cycles, training plans, and capability ledger entries.
• Manage rota, leave approvals, and onboarding for new joiners and academy grads; monitor shift health indicators.
• Build promotion cases with input from Service Reliability Leads and Tech Leads.
