Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to provide hands-on technical leadership and people management for a team of software engineers. This onsite role in India combines architectural oversight with active coding and mentoring to deliver robust digital solutions.

You will drive execution, guide best practices, and foster professional growth in an agile environment, while coordinating with cross-functional teams for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 13+ years of professional full-stack development with 4+ years in technical leadership overseeing teams of five or more.
• Strong experience with Node.js, Express, JavaScript/TypeScript; building scalable backend services.
• Advanced skills in React.js with Redux for modern web apps.
• Experience in system integration, API management, and designing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure; hands-on with AKS, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code.
• CI/CD pipelines, Azure Repos/Git, and modern DevOps workflows.
• Experience with Cosmos DB (Gremlin) or PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Manage a team of full-stack engineers, oversee daily operations, performance reviews, and career development; direct development and QA functions.
• Technical Oversight: Lead architectural design and implementation of end-to-end digital systems for speed, scale, and security.
• Code Quality: Conduct code reviews and establish best practices for high-quality maintainable code.
• Mentorship: Coach junior and mid-level developers to foster learning and technical excellence.
• Collaboration: Coordinate across enterprise teams and sync with leads/PMs/POs for on-time delivery.
• Development: Hands-on involvement in front-end and back-end coding to solve complex challenges.
• Delivery Performance: Own engineering metrics and automate release cycles with minimal production failures.
• Guide adoption of new technologies and tools, including AI and modern platforms.
