The role requires 4–6 years in process engineering, boiler performance modelling, and plant performance improvement within heavy industry, preferably coal-fired facilities. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Master's Degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field is advantageous.
Qualification in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline is an advantage
No professional license required.
Certification or exposure to process simulation software, statistical analysis, or data analytics tools is advantageous.
Minimum 4–6 years of experience in process engineering, boiler performance modelling, plant performance improvement, or operational support within coal-fired power plants or similar heavy industrial facilities.
Experience in asset performance management, process optimization, failure mechanism analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), and development of plant improvement initiatives.
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, combustion, and power plant process engineering.
Knowledge of coal-fired power generation technologies, including Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) and Pulverized Coal (PC) boilers, balance-of-plant systems, and associated equipment.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Able to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Willingness to travel across fleet sites and support outage, commissioning, and field engineering activities as required.
Provides specialist process engineering support to improve the safety, reliability, efficiency, and environmental performance of coal-fired power plant assets. Performs process engineering analyses, troubleshooting, plant performance assessments, root cause investigations, and optimization studies to support Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams in resolving complex technical issues and improving long-term asset performance.
Supports brownfield projects, plant modifications, and technical studies through the preparation and review of engineering calculations, heat and mass balances, process simulations, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, technical evaluations, and engineering deliverables. Participates in multidisciplinary design reviews, HAZOPs, operability assessments, commissioning activities, and technical investigations while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
Develops engineering scopes of work for process investigations, performance testing, and improvement initiatives, while supporting strategic programs such as emissions reduction, fuel flexibility, process digitalization, and plant performance enhancement. Provides technical recommendations, manages engineering interfaces across disciplines, supports risk mitigation activities, reviews technical deviations and concessions, and escalates significant technical risks to the Process Technical Authority and Engineering Manager where appropriate.
Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday, 8hrs./day
