Engineering Design Lead: MEP & Value Engineering

Job summary

SMDC is seeking an Engineering Design Manager/Design Assistant Manager to uphold SMDC Design Checklists and review sanitary, plumbing, and MEPFS designs from external consultants, ensuring changes align with project scope.

You will monitor deliverables, lead meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and perform annual MEPF audits across SMDC residences and projects. A background in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Sanitary Engineering with a PRC license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Sanitary Engineering.
• Valid PRC license as a professional engineer.
• Master Plumber license is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years in design roles within property development, real estate, contracting or consulting.
• 3+ years as Design Assistant Manager or Design Engineer in similar firms.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems with teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, adaptable to change and able to manage competing demands.
• Proficient with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint; capable of presenting to stakeholders.
• Experience working independently and in teams; driven to deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and implement SMDC’s Design Checklists and Standards.
• Review sanitary, plumbing, and MEPFS designs from external consultants for compliance.
• Participate in value engineering discussions with stakeholders.
• Evaluate design parameters proposed by consultants and close action items.
• Review engineering drawings and reports for accuracy and codes compliance; close action items.
• Monitor deliverables timelines and communicate with consultants as needed.
• Perform yearly MEPF audit across SMDC residences/properties/projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
