Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in Bacolod and Iloilo is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to uphold SMDC's design standards, review sanitary and plumbing works from external consultants, and coordinate changes with stakeholders. You will support the Engineering Design Manager and drive timely deliverables across projects.

The role requires engineering qualifications with PRC licensure, leadership and strong communication skills, plus experience in design reviews, audits, and value engineering.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of any Engineering trade (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Sanitary Engineering).
• Board exam passer with a valid PRC license.
• License as Master Plumber is an advantage.
• Total work experience of at least 5 years in property development, real estate, contractor, or consulting firm.
• At least 3 years of extensive work experience as Design Assistant Manager or Design Engineer in related fields.
• Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments with teamwork.
• Good leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, decisive, adaptable to changing demands.
• MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint proficiency with stakeholder presentation experience.
• Experience working independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and strictly implement the approved SMDC's Design Checklists and Design Standards.
• Assist the Engineering Design Manager in review of Sanitary, Plumbing Works from external consultants and note design changes proposed by stakeholders.
• Participate in meetings to identify value engineering and cost-saving items prior to implementation.
• Assist in review and evaluation of design parameters proposed by external consultants; ensure action items are executed and closed.
• Assist in review of MEPFS & CS engineering designs and drawings to ensure adequacy, accuracy and compliance with codes.
• Monitor deliverables timelines of external design consultants and communicate on compromised deliverables.
• Assist in performing yearly MEPF Audit of all SMDC Residences/Properties/Projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Uphold and strictly implement he approved SMDC's Design Checklists and Design Standards.

2. Assist the corresponding Engineering Design Manager in the review of Sanitary Engineering Works and Plumbing Works coming from external design consultants and take note and consider design changes propose by project stakeholders involved in the project prior to project implementation.

3. Participate on meetings and discussions in identifying potential value engineering and cost saving items prior to implementation of the projects.

4. Assist the corresponding Engineering Design Manager in the review and evaluation of design parameters proposed by the external design consultants. Ensure that all action items from the evaluation is properly executed and closed.

5. Assists the corresponding Engineering Design Manager in the review of the MEPFS & CS engineering designs and layouts, systems and other engineering drawings, reports and specifications submitted by the external design consultants at each stage of the Design Management Stage to ensure adequacy, accuracy and compliance to applicable codes and legal requirements as specified in the scope of work and contract agreement. Ensure that all action items from the evaluation is properly executed and closed.

6. Assist the corresponding engineering Design Manager in monitoring the timelines of deliverables of the external design consultants. Provide necessary action and communication to the external design consultant whenever attainment of deliverables are compromised.

7. Assist the Engineering Design Manager and perform yearly MEPF Audit of all SMDC Residences/Properties/Projects

8. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

7. Good leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills

8. Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands

9. Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders

10. Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
