SM Development Corporation seeks an experienced Design Assistant Manager/Design Engineer to support the Engineering Design Manager. You will review sanitary, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs from external consultants, enforce SMDC design standards, and ensure compliance with codes and contracts.
You will lead meetings, monitor deliverables, perform annual MEPF audits, and drive value engineering while coordinating with project stakeholders to meet timelines and budget.
1. Uphold and strictly implement the approved SMDC's Design Checklists and Design Standards.
2. Assist the corresponding Engineering Design Manager in the review of Sanitary Engineering Works and Plumbing Works coming from external design consultants and take note and consider design changes propose by project stakeholders involved in the project prior to project implementation.
3. Participate on meetings and discussions in identifying potential value engineering and cost saving items prior to implementation of the projects.
4. Assist the corresponding Engineering Design Manager in the review and evaluation of design parameters proposed by the external design consultants. Ensure that all action items from the evaluation is properly executed and closed.
5. Assists the corresponding Engineering Design Manager in the review of the MEPFS & CS engineering designs and layouts, systems and other engineering drawings, reports and specifications submitted by the external design consultants at each stage of the Design Management Stage to ensure adequacy, accuracy and compliance to applicable codes and legal requirements as specified in the scope of work and contract agreement. Ensure that all action items from the evaluation is properly executed and closed.
6. Assist the corresponding engineering Design Manager in monitoring the timelines of deliverables of the external design consultants. Provide necessary action and communication to the external design consultant whenever attainment of deliverables are compromised.
7. Assist the Engineering Design Manager and perform yearly MEPF Audit of all SMDC Residences/Properties/Projects
8. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
1. Must be a graduate of any Engineering trade (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Sanitary Engineering)
2. Board exam passer with a valid PRC license
3. License as Master Plumber is an advantage
4. Preferably have a total work experience of at least 5 years from a property developer, real estate, contractor or consulting firm
5. Preferably with at least three (3) years of extensive work experience as Design Assistant Manager or as Design Engineer from a property developer, real estate, contractor or consulting firm
6. Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
7. Good leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
8. Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
9. Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint with experience presenting to stakeholders
10. Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
11. Flexible with proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
