Interphil Laboratories, Inc. is looking for an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Division Manager to lead and manage the Engineering and Maintenance Division in support of the company's operational and business objectives.
The Division Manager will provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance team.
The position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling engineering and maintenance activities to maximize the reliability, efficiency, safety, and operational availability of plant equipment, utilities, facilities, and manufacturing lines through effective preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead, develop, and manage a team of engineering and maintenance professionals and technical staff, while working closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted and compliant manufacturing operations.
Lead, manage, and develop a multidisciplinary Engineering and Maintenance team, including Section Managers, engineers, maintenance personnel, planners, technicians, and other technical staff.
Provide direction, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and technical guidance to the team.
Establish team objectives, KPIs, work standards, and performance targets aligned with company goals.
Direct the efficient operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of plant facilities, utilities, and production equipment covering mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems.
Supervise Engineering Maintenance Section Managers, Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation PM personnel, maintenance planners, and related engineering teams.
Ensure effective preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs across Liquid Products, Dry Products, Creams & Ointments, Parenterals, Soft Gels, Chemical Dispensing, and Warehouse facilities.
Oversee critical plant utilities and facilities, including STP/WWTP, boilers, DI plant, HVAC systems, firefighting systems, and high- and low-voltage electrical power supply and distribution.
Develop maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability, uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
Plan, schedule, manage, and execute major CAPEX projects, equipment modifications, fabrication, installation, expansion, and improvement projects.
Lead engineering projects from design and bidding through procurement, implementation, commissioning, qualification, and validation documentation.
Prepare, manage, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets.
Control expenditures related to equipment maintenance, fuel and power, CAPEX projects, personnel, spare parts, and engineering supplies.
Develop and implement cost reduction and energy conservation programs.
Monitor project costs, schedules, manpower, resources, and overall project performance.
Manage external engineering contractors, consultants, and service providers.
Lead the implementation, utilization, and continuous improvement of SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) / CMMS.
Ensure proper work order generation, tracking, completion, and documentation.
Establish effective spare parts planning and inventory control.
Maintain accurate equipment history and maintenance records.
Develop equipment condition-monitoring and predictive maintenance programs.
Conduct or oversee failure analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical and recurring equipment failures.
Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs to improve reliability, availability, and maintenance effectiveness.
Ensure engineering and maintenance activities comply with cGMP, ISO 9001:2026, EHS, HACCP, 5S, and company standards.
Monitor the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and ensure effluent discharge complies with applicable LLDA and DENR requirements.
Ensure compliance with air emission, noise pollution, environmental, occupational health, and safety regulations.
Provide engineering documentation required for plant validation and qualification activities.
Support QMS activities including Change Control, CAPA, Deviation Management, Risk Management, and Data Integrity.
Ensure effective implementation of equipment calibration programs.
Maintain engineering standards and documentation for critical utilities, facilities, equipment, and instrumentation.
Build and maintain a high-performing Engineering and Maintenance organization.
Develop manpower plans, succession plans, training programs, and competency development initiatives.
Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching and feedback.
Identify training and development needs of engineering and maintenance personnel.
Promote teamwork, accountability, discipline, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Foster strong collaboration between Engineering and Maintenance and other plant departments.
Handle employee concerns, disciplinary matters, grievance resolution, and other people-management responsibilities in accordance with company policies, applicable labor regulations, and the CBA.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or other relevant engineering-related courses.
Graduates of Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or other closely related technical/scientific disciplines may also be considered depending on relevant engineering and maintenance experience.
Professional engineering license or relevant government licensure is preferred.
At least 5–8 years of managerial or supervisory experience in engineering and maintenance, with demonstrated experience in planning, leading, organizing, and controlling engineering operations.
Proven experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance team.
Strong background in budget management, financial control, cost reduction, and resource planning.
Extensive experience in HVAC, plant utilities, facilities, and process equipment maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical, chemical, food, healthcare, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience managing CAPEX and engineering projects, including design, bidding, cost control, implementation, commissioning, qualification, and validation.
Hands-on experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) / CMMS.
Experience in equipment calibration programs and facility/pest control management systems.
Proven track record in cost reduction and energy conservation initiatives.
