Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Digital Systems Design Engineer to design, configure, and implement industrial automation and control systems across power distribution and electrical infrastructure projects.

You will develop PLC logic, configure protection relays, and optimize networked automation solutions, working with cross-functional teams to ensure technical compliance and project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in industrial automation, power systems, control systems, or electrical engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, protection relays, industrial communications, and electrical control systems.

Job description

Join our technical delivery team as a Digital Systems Design Engineer specializing in Power, Control & Automation (PCA) solutions. In this role, you will design, configure, and implement industrial automation and control systems, supporting critical applications across power distribution, industrial automation, and electrical infrastructure projects.

What will you do?
  • Design, configure, and commission automation and control systems, including PLCs, protection relays, HMIs, and communication networks.
  • Develop and modify PLC logic, relay protection settings, and automation sequences according to project and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and review electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control schematics.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols and networks, such as Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, and other automation communications.
  • Support the design and integration of electrical control panels and switchgear solutions.
  • Perform troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning activities in laboratories and customer sites.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical compliance, quality, and successful project execution.
  • Provide technical recommendations to customers and internal stakeholders while supporting issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
What are the key skills we are looking for?
  • PLC Programming – Intermediate level; developing, testing, and troubleshooting automation logic.
  • Protection Relays – Intermediate level; configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of protection relays.
  • Industrial Communications – Intermediate level; configuring and troubleshooting industrial communication protocols and networks.
  • Electrical Drawings & Schematics – Intermediate level; interpretation and development of electrical and control diagrams.
  • Control Panels & Electrical Systems – Intermediate level; understanding panel design, wiring, and electrical integration concepts.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving – Intermediate level; diagnosing and resolving automation and electrical system issues.
  • Commissioning & Testing – Developing level; executing FAT, SAT, and field validation activities.
  • Technical Documentation – Developing level; creating engineering reports, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Communication Skills – Developing level; effectively interacting with customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
What qualifications will make you successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in industrial automation, power systems, control systems, or electrical engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, protection relays, industrial communications, and electrical control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, and wiring diagrams.Experience working with switchboards, electrical panels, or power distribution systems is highly desirable.
  • Basic English proficiency with willingness and commitment to continue developing communication skills.
  • Strong technical curiosity and a proactive approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
