Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and security across the development lifecycle. You will work in a collaborative Agile Scrum team with developers, product owners, and QA to validate features and releases.

You will design and execute manual tests, investigate issues, and contribute to security testing while maintaining validation environments and using modern testing tools to boost quality and team productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, electrical, computer engineering, computer science, information technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting software testing activities.
• Strong analytical and root-cause investigation skills.
• Experience with Windows, networking concepts, and deployment activities.
• Familiarity with lifecycle management tools such as Azure DevOps, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to quality.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint events and planning.
• Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
• Validate features, defect fixes, builds, and release candidates for downstream testing.
• Design and execute manual test cases across functional and security testing.
• Investigate and document issues with development teams to enable timely resolution.
• Develop and execute security-focused test scenarios for secure software development.
• Configure and maintain validation environments, including hardware and lab infrastructure.
• Leverage testing technologies and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for testing and delivery.
• Support a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive project culture.
