Job summary

AMD Electrical Contractors Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems. You will size systems, prepare and review SLDs, equipment layouts, and cable routing, and review electrical drawings for client projects.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with 2+ years of relevant experience and a valid driver's license. Travel to project sites is expected as needed, and a Professional Engineer license is preferred but

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Licensed Engineer is preferred but not required.
• At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in solar PV, electrical design, MEPF, electrical estimation, construction, renewable energy, or power systems.
• Experience in solar PV, electrical installation, or EPC projects is an advantage.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a service vehicle (manual and/or automatic).
• Willing to travel frequently and be assigned to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary and detailed designs for rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
• Perform basic solar PV system sizing based on client requirements, available area, electrical load, and energy consumption.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), equipment layouts, cable routing, and basic electrical drawings.
• Assist in determining appropriate PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, cables, protection devices, and other system components.
• Conduct basic electrical calculations including load and energy calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit considerations, protection and equipment ratings, transformer sizing, inverter sizing, and PV system capacity.
• Assist in evaluating solar generation estimates and system performance.
• Use applicable engineering standards, manufacturer requirements, and local electrical requirements in preparing designs.
