REGISTERED ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (REE)
Job Summary
The Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) is responsible for the planning, design, estimation, coordination, and implementation of electrical engineering projects. The position ensures that electrical works are properly designed, accurately estimated, safely executed, and completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable Philippine electrical codes, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Design
- Prepare electrical designs, layouts, single-line diagrams, load schedules, and electrical system specifications.
- Develop electrical plans for power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, auxiliary systems, and other electrical installations.
- Review drawings and ensure compliance with the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), applicable standards, and project specifications.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct site inspections and surveys to verify existing conditions and design requirements.
- Review and revise designs based on site conditions, client requirements, and project changes.
2. Estimation & Costing
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and electrical material estimates.
- Develop cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and material specifications.
- Prepare labor, equipment, and installation cost estimates.
- Request and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations.
- Compare material prices and identify cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality and safety.
- Assist in preparing project proposals, budgets, and tender documents.
3. Project Implementation
- Supervise and monitor electrical installation works at project sites.
- Ensure electrical works are executed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and other project teams.
- Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.
- Conduct inspections and quality-control checks for electrical installations.
- Identify technical issues and provide appropriate engineering solutions.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and as-built drawings.
- Assist in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and turnover of electrical systems.
- Prepare progress reports, inspection reports, punch lists, and other project documentation.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) with a valid Philippine PRC license.
- Strong knowledge of electrical design and engineering principles.
- Proficient in electrical quantity take-off and cost estimation.
- Knowledge of the Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and applicable electrical standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, and protection systems.
- Strong project coordination and implementation skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of electrical design/estimation software is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Licensed Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
- Experience in electrical design, estimation, construction, or project implementation.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, residential, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Willing to conduct site inspections and work on project locations as required.
